Mike Pinera, singer, guitarist and songwriter is known around the world as the driving force from legendary and iconic bands Iron Butterfly (In A Gadda Da Vida) Blues Image (Ride Captain Ride) Alice Cooper Band (Schools Out) and Mike Pinera solo (Goodnight My Love.)

Pinera formed The Blues Image in Tampa. A progressive blues band playing rare blues songs by iconic British blues bands.

He and Blues Image moved to Miami where they were co-founders of the famous rock venue THEE IMAGE in Miami Beach. Mike headlined and performed weekly with such legendary artists as The Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton & The Cream, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors & others.

One year later they moved to Hollywood California Mike and received a recording contract from Atlantic Records where they had a huge hit with RIDE CAPTAIN RIDE which Mike co-wrote and sang. Ride Captain went to number 3 on the Billboard Charts earning a platinum record award.

Mike played in the IRON BUTTERFLY who received the first Platinum Record Award ever given to any artists.

Iron Butterfly Albums which feature Pinera are METAMORPHOSIS with PINERA & RHINO which hit number 16, EVOLUTION, BEST OF IRON BUTTERFLY, LIGHT & HEAVY, IN A GADDA DA VIDA Laser Video Disc.The single EASY RIDER written by Pinera reached number 66 on the Billboard charts making it the band's biggest hit aside from In A Gadda Da Vida. The album is noted for having the first use of the guitar talkbox which Mike co-invented. During this time Pinera discovered and co-produced Black Oak Arkansas on Atlantic Records resulting in a multi-million seller, now multi-platinum. He and iconic JIMI HENDRIX drummer MITCH MITCHELL formed the band RAMATAM recording the album RAMATAM. The group was acclaimed as a cutting-edge progressive rock band. In the mid-seventies Pinera joined Cactus. He and Ted Nugent went on a national tour together. They turned their nightly jamming at the end of the shows into a climactic finale entitled “THE GUITAR BATTLE OF THE CENTURY.” It was an exciting blend of high energy playing, wrestling and audience participation. In 1980, Mike joined up with longtime pal ALICE COOPER for two world tours. In 1992, Mike formed the first original Classic Rock Supergroup, THE CLASSIC ROCK ALL-STARS.

The band included lead singers and stars from RARE EARTH, SUGARLOAF, SPENCER DAVIS, Headhunters and himself. Special guests included members of Kansas, Toto, Allman Brothers, Steppenwolf, Moody Blues, and many others. They were the NUMBER ONE CLASSIC ROCK SUPERGROUP in the world.

The Tangent is a Progressive Rock Band from Northern England, based around keyboards player, composer and idiosyncratic vocalist Andy Tillison Diskdrive.

Their music is cinematic and lyrical, full of narrative, often telling stories or making observations about the world we live in - often choosing subject matter more associated with Anarcho-Punk bands than with the genre in which the band choose to base themselves. "No Hobbits or Orcs in our songs" The band have released a steady output of well-regarded albums through their record label Inside Out Music.

The band has changed personnel many times and has used this fluidity to keep ideas fresh and lucid. The debut album released in 2003 The Music that Died Alone was often referred to as a "supergroup" project, though Tillison has always eschewed this title, preferring to go for the less obvious "a good idea".

In twelve years, the group has had close affiliations with Swedish progressive legends The Flower Kings, and Jonas Reingold (bass) from that band remains in the Tangent to this day despite the departure of Roine Stolt from the Tangent ten years ago now. David Jackson (Van Der Graaf Generator) was heavily featured on that debut album, Jakko Jakszyk (now of King Crimson) has been a frequent collaborator along with Theo Travis (Steven Wilson Band, Soft Machine Legacy, Gong etc.). Guy Manning, Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree), David Longdon (Big Big Train) have all played key roles in the band's development and the band was instrumental in bringing the talents of the astonishing young guitarist Luke Machin (Maschine) to the world for the first time.

Tangent philosophy has been to embrace other more contemporary bands. Whether overtly progressive themselves (Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Argos, Magenta etc.) or completely away from the official boundaries of the genre into metal, Jazz, modern pop, soul, disco and film music, the Tangent do not follow the prog rock rule book.

"It's more what we don't do that sets us apart" Tillison said in a 2007 interview... "we've always avoided doing the 12 string acoustic stuff, and in fact anything that gets too Genesissy or Floyd-like usually (not always) gets binned.. that's not to say that there aren't influences.. just that we don't like the idea of being confined to the styles of those particular figureheads. The spirit of progressive rock music was carried by lots more people than Genesis. I think that too many of us (new bands) use the obvious source - i.e. the 70s bands and forget to look around us and see what our contemporaries are up to!"

Andy Tillerson’s progressive bands have been "A New Opera" 1978 - 1986, "Gold Frankincense & Diskdrive" 1987 - 1995, Po90 (Parallel Or 90 Degrees) 1996 - 2010 and The Tangent 2002 - the present. Jan Hammer's musical career is as firmly rooted in the fundamentals of classical, jazz and rock as it is committed to the future of electronics, synthesized sound, the possibilities of interactive media, television, film and animation. His walls are lined with Grammy awards and gold and platinum plaques from around the world. His name is found on scores of recordings spanning the 1970s to the '90s -- solo albums, collaborations with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jeff Beck, Al Di Meola, Mick Jagger, Carlos Santana, Stanley Clarke, Neal Schon, Elvin Jones and many others.

Jan has composed and produced soundtracks for a long list of motion pictures, the music for 90 episodes of Miami Vice (which spun-off four soundtrack albums and its worldwide #1 hit theme song), 20 episodes of the popular British television series Chancer, and the music for BEYOND the Mind's Eye, one of the all-time best-selling music videos in Billboard chart history.

Jan spent a year as keyboardist/conductor with Sarah Vaughan. In 1971, he became a member of the original Mahavishnu Orchestra, (then) the most successful group ever to record and tour in the jazz-rock fusion genre, selling over 2 million records worldwide, and performing 530 shows before their December 31, 1973 farewell concert.

Jan's solo career began with The First Seven Days (1975), produced and recorded at Red Gate Studio in his upstate New York farmhouse. Over the next decade Jan produced and performed on nearly 20 albums with his own bands (the Jan Hammer Group, and later Hammer), and such musicians as Jeff Beck, Al Di Meola, and Neal Schon (of Journey), among others. With Beck, Jan wrote, produced and performed on several tracks for the guitar legend’s platinum Wired album after which the two set out on a massive 8 month, 117 date tour that yielded the gold album Jeff Beck with the Jan Hammer Group Live.

In 1981 and 1983 Jan teamed up with Neal Schon on the albums Untold Passion and Here To Stay and, still in 1983, Jan also joined Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker and others for a series of benefit concerts for Ronnie Lane's ARMS (Action Research into Multiple Sclerosis). Into 1984, Jan played on Mick Jagger's She's The Boss and Jeff Beck's Flash -- which included Jan's Grammy-winning song "Escape."

In 1985, "Miami Vice Theme" (MCA Records) hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and, in so doing, became the first and only original version of an instrumental theme for television to reach this pinnacle of success.

"Miami Vice Theme" became a top 5 international hit and earned Jan two Grammy awards: “Best Pop Instrumental Performance” and “Best Instrumental Composition.” The Miami Vice Soundtrack album stayed #1 in Billboard for 12 weeks, hitting quadruple-platinum and selling over 4 million copies in the U.S. alone, with worldwide sales in excess of 7 million as of this writing.

Jimmy Haun got his start in the music business through his childhood friend Michael Sherwood and toured with Michael's father’s (Bobby Sherwood) jazz band at 15 years old playing jazz standards and hits of the day. Too young to go into the lounges they toured, the boys were forced to sit backstage between shows and work up their own brand of music. Out of this came their first band Lodgic and later Michael's younger brother Billy Sherwood would take over the role as bass player. They released an album in 1985 on A&M Records produced by David Paich and Steve Porcaro of the group Toto. Some touring followed by opening for Supertramp in the mid-'80s. Thanks to Steve Lukather, Haun got some gigs working as a studio musician playing on numerous recordings. Around this time, Haun met Michael Ruff and did some west coast touring where he then met Sheryl Crow who was singing backup for Ruff and joined one of her first bands.

Haun went on to play much of the guitar on Yes's 1991 album Union , before work in The Key with Billy Sherwood and The Chris Squire Experiment with Sherwood and Chris Squire. He also did session work for Air Supply, Kitaro and Jon & Vangelis during this period.

Haun got involved with Yes producer Jonathan Elias and started composing music for TV and film. In 1996, Haun composed the Mandalay pictures logo. Haun worked extensively with Elias, including his American River album (2004) but also on music for commercials. Haun created the original yodel logo for Yahoo in 1996 as well as the voice for Expedia.com.

Haun re-joined Sherwood in the Yes spin-off supergroup Circa, formed in 2006, also with Tony Kaye (ex-Yes) and initially Alan White (currently of Yes). Sherwood, Kaye and Haun were also in Yoso with singer Bobby Kimball. Yoso subsequently disbanded and Haun left Circa to focus on commercial work.

Haun composed the music for the film Boulevard starring Robin Williams. He also is credited with producing and singing the end song "Goodbye Joy”.

In 2016, Haun played the majority of the guitars on Steve Porcaro's solo album Someday/Somehow .

Haun's father was singer Jim Haun, better known as Rouvaun. Jimmy Haun's daughter is the actress and singer Lindsey Haun (born 1984) and he has worked with her on her music career.
